John Hardy has been making handcrafted jewelry in Bali since 1975. Their artisan collections are defined by traditional silversmithing techniques and a provenance story that runs deep: the Bamboo collection, the Naga collection, the Legends of Bali. Each carries real cultural weight. The brand is sold globally through premium retail partnerships and a direct-to-consumer channel that needed to do justice to the craft.
When they came to WeMakeWebsites, Salesforce Commerce Cloud was the problem. Rigid, expensive to run, and slow to update, the platform was consuming budget and developer time that should have been focused on growth. The team had a hard deadline: a full replatform to Shopify Plus had to be delivered before Black Friday. WeMakeWebsites ran the Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus migration across parallel workstreams: design, development, data migration, and integrations. All were managed against a milestone tracker built around the Black Friday go-live. Full customer account history, order records, and product data were migrated without disruption. The store went live on schedule.

Custom Luxury Theme and High-AOV UX
The new Shopify Plus theme was built around John Hardy's visual language, with craft, provenance, and artisan story woven into every product page. Collection architecture was designed for high-consideration purchases: detailed imagery, material and technique storytelling, and an accessibility-compliant build meeting WCAG standards. The theme gave the internal team full content control without requiring developer involvement for updates.

Shopify Markets Pro and Customer Data Migration
Shopify Markets Pro was implemented to handle international tax calculation via Avalara, fraud protection via Signifyd, and localized checkout experiences across all trading regions. Full customer account history and complete order records were migrated from Salesforce, ensuring no buyer lost their purchase history on the new platform.

Full Tech Stack Integration
Attentive for SMS marketing, Zendesk for customer service, Affirm for buy-now-pay-later, Storemapper for retail store finder, and OneTrust for consent management were all integrated and QA-tested before go-live. Every integration was validated against the Black Friday deadline. The store launched with a complete, production-ready tech stack.
